ABOUT ME

Wig Shop

Hi my name's Adam and I have been a hairdresser for twenty two years. I have had my salon now for the past 11 years.

I have worked in various salons all over the southwest, managing and enhancing my experience and career.

When I was 14, I didn't really know what I wanted to do and landed myself a Saturday job in the salon.

This led me to do a little competition when I was 15 at the local college where I was up against some very experienced stylists. And I won! From this moment, styling hair became my favourite form of art.

HOW MADAM WAS BORN

Adam Thomas. Owner of MadaM Wigs

MadaM Wigs was born back in lockdown, when the whole world was at a standstill and nobody had anything to do. As a hairdresser, I wasn't able to work and being someone who is creative and loves all things art and visual, being locked in at home made me feel like I was going crazy.

So I spoke to a few friends and said to them, if I made a wig, could you honestly tell me what you think of it? They agreed so off I went and treated myself to my first ever wig.

So I did my thing to it and sent my friends a picture. They absolutely loved it so I thought, okay, let's see if I can sell it. So I posted it online and the positive response I received was overwhelming.

I created a few more wigs and the rest is history, before you knew it, MadaM Wigs was born.

So now we’re here in 2025, launching this website and selling my creations to queens all over the UK. Never in my wildest dreams did I believe this would happen. It's such an amazing experience to be able to create my art, and then see it go out into the world and come to life.

I’ve always been an artistic person. I chop and change quite a few little hobbies of mine. I’ve painted, done various types of gardening and my current obsession is house plants. For me, it's the colours, it’s the vibrancy, the way they look, the leaves, the patterns, I even enjoy potting them, putting in a nice pot and then setting it up nicely, everything is a visual with me.

I even dared making clothing for a while for photo shoots. Again, being so creative, when I would have photo shoots for my hairdressing, I could never quite find exactly the outfit I was looking for. So what did I do? Pick up a sewing machine, buy some fabric and make my own outfit for the shoot. I did this for a few years and did a few things for fans. But it's not a passion that was just a hobby.
